June 2, 2026, Consolidated Statewide Direct Primary Election

Official local election results reports will be published at sfelections.org/results, with printed copies available at the Department of Elections’ office in Room 48, City Hall. On Election Night, results will also be available at the North Light Court of City Hall and broadcast via the ticker on SFGTV (Channel 26).
Official statewide election results will be available at sos.ca.gov/elections.

The Department of Elections will report local election results as follows:

Election Night Reporting (Preliminary)

After the polls close, the Department will release four preliminary results reports:

  1. 8:45 p.m. – The first report will include results from most of the vote-by-mail ballots received before Election Day.
  2. 9:45 p.m. – The second report will incorporate Election Day results from reporting polling places.
  3. 10:45 p.m. – The third report will also include Election Day results from additional reporting polling places.
  4. Around midnight – The fourth report, including all Election Day polling place results, will be issued once all 514 precincts have reported.

All results released on Election Night are preliminary and will change as additional ballots are counted in the following days. These include valid provisional and vote-by-mail ballots received on Election Day, as well as valid vote-by-mail ballots that are postmarked by Election Day and received within one week.

Canvass Period Daily Reporting (Preliminary)

  1. Beginning Wednesday, June 3, the Department will publish the approximate number of ballots remaining to be counted and will continue to do so daily until all ballots are counted. On June 3, the Department will not issue a preliminary election results report.
  2. Beginning Thursday, June 4, and continuing through Friday, June 12, the Department will release updated preliminary election results reports at approximately 4 p.m. each day, except Sunday, June 7.
  3. After June 12, the Department will release additional results updates as ballots are counted and will post notice of the updated reporting schedule on its website.
  4. Under state law, the earliest date the Department may certify the election results is Thursday, June 25.

On days the Department does not count ballots and no updated preliminary election results reports are available, the Department will post a notice to that effect.

Final Results Reporting

The Department will release the final local election results upon completion of the ballot count. Under state law, the earliest date the Department may certify the election results is Thursday, June 25.

Report Formats

Election Night and canvass period reports, will include a) the Statement of the Vote, with data sorted by precinct, district, and neighborhood (PDF and Excel), b) the Cast Vote Record, showing raw vote data (JSON), and ranked-choice voting reports for the contests for Member of the Board of Supervisors, District 2 and District 4.
