Today Is the Last Day to Register to Vote for the June 8, 2010 Consolidated Statewide Direct Primary Election

SAN FRANCISCO, May 24, 2010 – Today is the last day to register to vote or change any registration information for the upcoming June 8, 2010 Consolidated Statewide Direct Primary Election. To facilitate last-minute registration, the Department of Elections will be open until 8 p.m. tonight to accept registration cards.

Ways to register to vote for before today’s deadline:

  • Download, complete and mail a Voter Registration Form from the Secretary of State’s website.
  • Visit any one of the following locations to pick up a form: post offices, public libraries, some City and County offices, or the Department of Motor Vehicles. Complete and mail the form today.
  • Come to the Department of Elections on the ground floor of City Hall. After 6 p.m., voters must enter City Hall through the front entrance on Polk Street (Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place).

All mailed registration forms must be postmarked with today’s date, May 24, for applicants to become eligible to vote in the June election.
